Objectives

Experience and Qualifications
1. Strongly motivated and knowledgable individual that is passionate about agriculture.
2. Degree in business, marketing or related topic. Advanced degree an advantage.
3. 5+ years experience in agribusiness or cold chain logistics in East Africa, particularly in Kenya, and/or
4. 5+ years experience in sales and marketing and B2B sales of technology or services in the East Africa region, particularly Kenya.
5. Strong presentation and communication ability and the ability to communicate with C-Suite level clientele.
6. Fluency in English and a working knowledge of Swahili is an advantage.
7. Experience in commercial work in multiple countries in East Africa.

Votre nouvelle mission
La province ecclésiastique de Garoua englobe les trois régions du Nord du Cameroun et le projet porte sur trois diocèses: Maroua Mokolo, Ngaoundéré et Garoua proprement dit.
La Commission Justice et Paix (CDJP) contribue à une coexistence plus pacifique des différents groupes ethniques dans la région et travaille pour le compte de l’église diocésaine dans le domaine de la justice et de la paix. Le projet a pour objectif de faciliter le dialogue entre les autochtones et les populations déplacées/réfugiées et de contribuer ainsi à une transformation non violente des conflits, afin de favoriser une coexistence pacifique. Par le dialogue avec les différents groupes de personnes déplacées et réfugiées, il conviendra d’analyser la situation actuelle de manière approfondie afin de développer conjointement, sur cette base, des solutions pour l’avenir.
Vous aurez la chance de découvrir les régions du Nord du Cameroun et la diversité des personnes qui y vivent, ainsi que de vivre et d’encourager le dialogue entre elles.

Dans le détail, vous assumerez les tâches suivantes :
• Vous apportez conseils et soutien pour la mise en place et l’accompagnement d’initiatives de dialogue entre la population autochtone et immigrée dans la province ecclésiastique de Garoua.
• Vous apportez des conseils dans la gestion de projets et soutenez l’introduction d’un système de planification, de monitoring et d’évaluation (PME) axé sur les résultats, en tenant compte des différences entre les diocèses participants.
• Vous développez des formations pour des mesures de soutien de la paix, pour la transformation non violente des conflits et l’advocacy, et assurez la formation continue des formateurs/trices du CDJP comme de vos bénévoles. De plus, vous soutenez les collaborateurs/trices du CDJP dans l’accompagnement du comité communal et transmettez les compétences correspondantes.
• Vous soutenez la mise en réseau avec des initiatives de dialogue similaires entre autochtones et populations déplacées mises en œuvre par d’autres partenaires du SCP.
• Vous êtes responsable de la bonne utilisation et de la bonne gestion des moyens financiers sur place conformément aux directives des donateurs et aux prescriptions de AGIAMONDO. Pour ce faire, vous travaillez en coopération avec l’organisation partenaire.

Votre profil
• Vous êtes titulaire d’un diplôme d'études supérieures, p. ex. en sciences sociales, en sciences des religions, en ethnologie, en études africaines, en pédagogie, en psychologie.
• Vous possédez une expérience professionnelle avec une spécialisation dans le domaine de la paix, si possible dans un contexte ecclésiastique, dans l’idéal en lien avec l’Afrique.
• Vous possédez des connaissances théoriques et une expérience pratique dans le domaine du développement organisationnel, de la gestion de projets et de l’advocacy en lien avec l’intégration et la prise en charge des populations réfugiées et déplacées.
• Vous avez un fort désir de voyager pour collaborer en lien étroit avec les membres du réseau.

Congo Program Overview:

Over the past 25 years WCS Congo has been the government’s principle conservation partner, assisting the Ministry of Forest Economy (MEF) in managing wildlife and its habitat in several of the country’s national parks, reserves, and protected area buffer zones. WCS and the MEF have formalized their partnership with the signing of several protocols, which define the roles of each partner in assuring protected areas are managed to international standards. These protected area protocols include Nouabale-Ndoki National Park (NNNP). NNNP is considered to be WCS Africa’s flagship protected area and is our first public private partnership for the management of a national park.

Job Summary:
This position will provide essential data to inform management decisions as well as ensuring capacity building of national research assistants, students and researchers. S/he will oversee the coordination and development of research initiatives as well as long-term monitoring programs. The Research and Monitoring Unit Director will have extensive experience in research design, implementation, analysis, and publication.

Major Responsibilities:
• Overall supervision of the Research and Monitoring Unit and staff
• Participate in strategic planning and reporting in accordance with the park needs
• Ensure review of data quality and research design
• Develop new research initiatives and partnerships which adhere to the conservation strategy of the park management plan
• Oversee all aspects of data management, storage, back-up and analysis including GIS
• Coordination of existing research sites, including assisting with logistics and operations for research missions
• Ensure adherence to national and international research protocols and standards
• Coordinate training and capacity building of national and international researchers
• Ensure regular and standardized data collection and reporting
• Coordinate regular landscape-wide monitoring survey (every 5 years, next one in 2021) and long term ecological data collection, including system of monitoring at specific sites (bais) and established transects and plots
• Maintain and expand collaborations with national and international research institutions
• Work closely with the WCS Global Health Program to ensure researchers and staff adhere to best practice protocols and that a health monitoring system is in place; including monitoring of impact of human presence (tourism, logging etc.)
• Assist in the overall promotion of NNNP as a center for research and monitoring by building collaborations with external researchers, promoting publication and distribution of data (i.e. publication in peer reviewed and popular journals, representation at meetings, development of promotional materials, and providing open access to certain datasets).
• Contribute to reporting obligations of the PMU for donors, national authorities, etc.

Minimum Requirements:
• PhD in Biology, Ecology or related field
• At least 5 years’ experience conducting or overseeing research programs
• Peer-reviewed publications
• Ability to manage teams and work in a multicultural context
• Experience working in a developing country setting. Experience in the Congo Basin will be considered a plus
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal. English & French required
• Effective “roll up the sleeves” work ethic, with attention to detail
• Experience with Distance-based and camera trapping surveys a plus.
• Willingness to live in a remote location with few amenities and in a multi-cultural social environment.

Major Responsibilities:
Regional Grant Management
• Ensure compliance with all organizational, country level and donor policies.
• Organize kick-off meetings for awards in the region with budgets of $1 million or more focusing key compliance requirements and award terms and conditions.
• Ensure regular, effective communication across the entire Central Africa Region to include follow up on grant management specifics identified in the kick-off meeting.
• Support Technical Leads and Chief of Parties with general grant administration tasks to include preparing donor approval requests for changes to budgets and workplans, waivers, disposition.
• Ensures grant information management and filing systems for regional grants are coordinated and respected such that all donor contractual documents, reports, and key correspondence are appropriately filed, accessible and up-to-date.
• Maintain Leahy Vetting approval database to support country program compliance with this USG requirement. Act as main point of contact for all questions about Leahy Vetting.

Subaward Compliance
• Prepare all subaward agreements in the region, using the applicable template for the donor and/or OGC approved template in coordination with Country Programs.
• Collaborating with Global Subaward Compliance Manager, develop effective subaward management procedures, templates and tools.
• Coordinate subaward compliance in the region with the Country Technical lead and Finance team.

Procurement
• Ensure efficient procurement processes in country programs in accordance with WCS Procurement Policy.
• Acts as the main point of contact for procurement related questions.
• Assist Country Programs as needed with the preparation of Requests for Proposals, qualified vendor lists and procurement supporting documentation.
• Reviews service agreements for country programs and drafts service agreements for Regional activities. In certain cases, this position will also be responsible for drafting country level service agreements.

Other
• Support grant audits in coordination with NY Finance and the Regional Controller.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the Regional Business Manager and/or Regional Director.

Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor degree required
• Proven grant management experience in an international organization (3+ years) in a multi-funder and multi-currency environment required
• Experience in managing substantial (>USD 1million) USAID, EU and/or other bilateral/multilateral grants required
• Experience managing procurement and logistics processes
• Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse team. Must be solution-oriented and have strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• English fluency required; French language skills strongly preferred.
• Excellent computer and systems skills required with respect to MS Office applications (advanced skills in MS Excel required). Experience with a major financial accounting and reporting software (SAP or equivalent) strongly preferred.

About the Role
Inyenyeri seeks highly motivated and experienced professionals to fill the position of VP Finance, who will required providing financial management leadership services to the Company.
LEADERSHIP:
• Understanding the strategic direction of the Company, providing high level, proactive financial expertise and leadership to the company as a whole and direction for both short and long term financial planning.
• Advising the CEO and Board of Directors on the financial implications, of business/project activities.

• Overseeing the maintenance of the inventory of all assets.
• Manage the capital needs and capital budgeting process for the company.
• Develop recommendations for currency risk management and procedures for currency conversion.
FINANCING:
• Actively contributing to the strategy to meet the financing needs of the company, in close collaboration with the Chief Investment Officer (CIO).
• Assisting the CIO in preselecting funds, investors and financial institutions, and, on ‘project’ basis, managing an opportunity till closure.
• Driving the effort to get export financing & insurance facilities from European development agencies.
• Managing the relationship with selected financial partners.
• With the CIO, developing materials for potential investors including presentations and data rooms.
POLICIES:
• Developing and implementing comprehensive policies for financial operations and guidelines.
• Ensuring that all finance guidelines and related administrative procedures are adhered to.
• Overseeing all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP/IFRS standards and regulatory requirements.
• Back stopping the accounting team and the quality assurance of the accounting system.
• Applying and demonstrating high quality financial and other related management controls.
• Abiding by, observing and at all times complying with and giving effect to the terms and conditions of the Investment Agreements and ensuring that the Company does not in any way violate or fail to comply with its obligations thereunder.
OPERATIONS:
• Participating in the Operational Review meetings and represent the finance division in those meetings.
• Primary interface on all banking, treasury and board-level presentations.
• Preparing terms of reference and overseeing the consultancy in the field of the financial advisory firms to be engaged by the Company.
• Ensuring adherence to accounting standards and legal compliances.
• Assisting in the development and implementation the company's ESOP program.
• Keeping track of the company's debt and equity capitalization tables, including options granted under the company's ESOP.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Experience:
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in finance function in a for profit organization, of which > 3 years in financial analysis of which >3 years in a senior managerial position;
• Experience in structuring and monitoring equity investments and loans;
• Experience in shaping finance organizations and systems in at least one organization;
• Proven track record in structuring export finance deals with European agencies, in collaboration with suppliers is a pre;
• Having worked in international organizations with various forms and maturity of governance;
• Work experience in at least three out of five EAC countries a real pre;
Education:
· At least a Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration or business analytics;
· Follow-up courses in finance, governance.
Languages:
· English a must; Swahili and Kinyarwanda will be an added value.
