AGIAMONDO is the personnel service of the German Catholics for Development Cooperation. In the Civil Peace Service (CPS) we offer development workers a meaningful role working with local development agents. The CPS is a personnel programme for peace-building and the prevention of violence in crisis and conflict regions. It sets out to promote a world in which conflicts are settled without violence. Trainer for Adult Education and Peace Work (m/f/x), Nyeri, Kenya

Your new role
Religious tensions and mutual loss of trust within society are increasingly becoming a reality in Kenya. Conflicts and violence occur predominantly in certain regions, but in election periods they occur almost nationwide. Most of the conflicts are resource- and migration-related, but they are also based on political rivalries along ethnic lines, such as the introduction of multi-party politics in the early 1990s or the political unrest in 2007/2008.

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Tarbes (SJT) is an international congregation and has been present in Kenya since 1982. With its mission to live by and build on a sense of community in the world, it is active in eight different dioceses in the country, mostly in conflict regions. The sisters are involved in the communities in areas such as education, early childhood development and health.
The SJT is committed to strengthening the skills and abilities of its sisters in the field of peace-building as early as the formation stage, so that they can face the conflicts that arise in the communities as active peacemakers. You will support the sisters in their daily work, to contribute to a sustainable, peaceful coexistence of all people.

Specifically, you will carry out the following tasks:
- You will develop a curriculum for peace work covering the following topics: conflict analysis, conflict transformation, restorative justice, instruments of sustainable peace work, stress management, active non-violence.
- You will design and conduct training in line with the curriculum for sisters in formation and also for sisters already working in their communities.
- You will work in close cooperation with the formation house Training Director and develop training materials to continually integrate peace work into the sisters’ training programme.
- You will advise and support the sisters in their offices and ministries on conflict-sensitive project work and assist in the preparation of project applications.
- You will be responsible for the proper spending and management of funds locally in accordance with the donor and AGIAMONDO guidelines. In doing so you will work in partnership with the Sisters of St. Joseph of Tarbes.

Your profile
- You have a university degree in peace and conflict research, sociology, ethnology, political sciences or a comparable subject and have already gained professional experience in peace and conflict work.
- You have experience in adult education, ideally in conducting training courses, and are familiar with peace- and conflict-sensitive approaches to project work.
- You are sensitive when dealing with matters of faith and religion, look forward to working in the sisters’ formation house and can use your communication and consulting skills in a culturally sensitive way.
- You speak and write fluent English.
- You are an EU or Swiss citizen. As a member of the Catholic Church you demonstratively share the goals and concerns of church-related development and peace work.

Assistant/Associate/Full Professor , United Arab Emirates

The National Defense College (NDC) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was created to establish in the UAE capital a leading graduate institute for Strategic and Security Studies. The program fosters in senior military officers and civilians the intellectual breadth, global perspective and critical reflection that is needed to prepare them to identify and assess challenges to national, regional and international security and skillfully manage and employ state resources supporting the national interest.
A full-time faculty position at the NDC involves teaching graduate level courses in strategic and security studies, advising and mentoring students at the institution, conducting research in fields relevant to the College mission and academic curriculum, potential travel to international conferences, participating in services to the college, outreach and partnership-building, and teaching short, executive education courses as required. Effective communication and team-work skills are necessary; collaboration with colleagues and administrators from diverse backgrounds is required.
The annual teaching load of the College is capped at 18 credits, though NDC endeavors to limit teaching to 12 credits when possible. Candidates should be able to contribute to three or more core courses in the existing interdisciplinary curriculum and develop an elective in their area of expertise. An active research agenda is also required, with publication expectations of either one peer-reviewed article, book chapter, or the equivalent per year. Required Education & Teaching Experience:
Applicants to open positions at NDC must have a terminal degree of doctorate (Ph. D.) from an accredited university with at least three years of teaching experience at the graduate level with a strong track record of master’s level academic advising, research, mentoring and supervision. We are particularly interested in faculty with significant expertise in International Political Economy, Africa Area Studies, Asia and Middle East area Studies, Strategic Leadership, International Law, Cyber Strategy and Information Security and Sociology. 
Desired Qualifications:
Previous military or government service is desirable but does not remove the requirement for a doctorate degree and academic experience in required fields.  Arabic language proficiency is strongly desired and is considered a great asset even though the courses are conducted in English.

Project Officer Mobilité Humaine (h/f/x) – Sénégal

Contexte

Le Projet Pilote pour la Mobilité des Entrepreneurs (PEM), financé par la Commission Européenne via la Facilité pour les Partenariats de Mobilité, vise à contribuer au dialogue sur la gouvernance de la migration entre le Sénégal et la Belgique en testant une approche innovante de la mobilité temporaire entre les opérateurs économiques du Sénégal et de la Belgique.

Le projet offre des opportunités de mobilité temporaire et circulaire vers la Belgique à des nano, micro et petits entrepreneurs du Sénégal. Il offre aux entreprises basées en Belgique l'opportunité d'entrer en contact avec des entrepreneurs sénégalais innovants en vue de partenariats potentiels et de projets commerciaux et il soutient le dialogue et les partenariats durables entre les acteurs publics et privés sénégalais et belges impliqués dans la mobilité professionnelle.

Les résultats escomptés incluent 60 entrepreneurs sénégalais (et/ou leurs employés.es) sélectionnés et bénéficiant d'un itinéraire d'échange et d'apprentissage en Belgique. Le projet entend aussi contribuer au renforcement de la gouvernance de la mobilité humaine au niveau local et national à travers ces deux volets :
• mise en œuvre du schéma de mobilité des nano et micro entrepreneurs, au travers un mécanisme de sélection des entrepreneurs et femmes entrepreneurs commun entre acteurs publics et privés belges et sénégalaiss ;
• un appui au dialogue entre acteurs publics et privés dans les deux pays et entre les deux pays, pour améliorer les opportunités de mobilité et leur durabilité.

Le Projet PEM mis en œuvre par Enabel fait partie du contexte plus large du support au secteur privé au Sénégal.

Description de la fonction

Dans votre domaine d’expertise et sous la supervision du chef de projet,
• Vous mettez en œuvre des activités du projet qui vous sont attribuées ;
• Vous fournissez les inputs techniques nécessaires à l’atteinte des résultats attendus du portefeuille/du projet ;
• Vous contribuez à l’assurance qualité ainsi qu’à la capitalisation et à la gestion des connaissances ;
• Vous contribuez au changement et au renforcement des capacités des partenaires.
Vous faites partie intégrante de l’équipe du projet et en portez les valeurs et la vision, vous présentez une image dynamique en engagée d’Enabel et de l’équipe en place au Sénégal. Par ailleurs, vous mettez régulièrement vos connaissances dans le secteur à jour (lectures, (e-)conférences, participation à des réseaux d’experts …) et les partagez avec vos collègues dans le but d’améliorer les pratiques et les connaissances en lien avec le projet.

Vous avez à cœur d’introduire les nouvelles technologies dans le processus d’apprentissage des collaborateurs du projet et des partenaires et vous favorisez le développement du numérique avec les experts « Digital for Development » (« D4D ») d’Enabel.

Votre profil

Niveau de formation requis
· Master en sciences sociales ou économiques, diplomatiques ou politiques, internationales, développement ou autre.

Expériences requises
• Minimum 2 ans d’expérience pertinente dans le domaine de la gouvernance, de la mobilité humaine, de l’appui au dialogue institutionnel ou similaire ;
• Une expérience dans les domaines susmentionnés en Afrique subsaharienne;
• Toute autre expérience professionnelle pertinente en dehors de votre pays d’origine constitue un atout ;
• Toute expérience dans plusieurs projets pertinents constitue un atout.

Compétences et connaissances requises en lien avec l’expertise récherchée
• Bonne connaissance de la problématique de la mobilité humaine et sa gouvernance ;
• Compréhension des questions liées à la mobilisation de la diaspora pour faciliter la mobilité ;
