The Job
Our client is looking for a regional project manager in West Africa to manage projects, mainly in Ivory Coast. Together with the companies' local sustainability team in Côte d'Ivoire and program partners they need you to increase impact in their supply chains, set-up and supervise programs, and build a strong Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) structure. You will be the connector of their middlemen, exporters, farmer communities, NGO’s, public and private parties, and research institutes. Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Follow-up on program design and execution in Côte d'Ivoire, but with regular travels to Ghana, Nigeria, and Cameroon.
- Up-scale and execute program activities that were initiated together with supply chain partners.
- Support fundraising for (new) programs.
- Maintain relationships with our clients, exporters and farmer groups.
- Identify co-investors and new local partners for program up-scaling.
- Support the companies' M&E structure, existing of open source software (QGIS, R).

The team
You will be working in our clients' dynamic sustainability team in Côte d'Ivoire. You will strengthen relationships with partners and local suppliers in the mentioned countries in close collaboration with the sustainability field teams in our headquarters in Europe and the other origins.

We are looking for
- At least two years of experience in the international development sector.
- An academic degree in agriculture, international development studies, or other related fields.
- A confident and strong negotiator.
- Fluent in French and English.
- We are looking for a self-starter.
- Excellent presentation, communication and networking skills.
- Bush proof.
- An ambitious and motivated worker that likes to work in a start-up environment with minimum facilities and resources.
- Prepared to work in West Africa for a minimum of 3 years.

Work Status
40 hours per week.

Chief Financial Officer in Ghana , Ghana

Our client is a socially and environmentally responsible company that manufactures and trades raw material for the cosmetic and food industry, working closely with small-holder farmers in West Africa. The company is expanding and therefore they are recruiting a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for their team. This person will directly report to the General Manager.
For this position we are looking for nationals only.

Tasks and responsibilities
• Designing a framework for financial reporting and performance, including sales and profitability for each customer and channel
• Develop a process for implementation of a strategic plan
• Ensure accounting systems and processes are continually streamlined via process improvement to achieve greater efficiencies and accuracy in the level and timeliness of reporting (continuous improvement).
• Implement, document and maintain accounting policies and procedures and drive optimization of cost improvements
• Implementing and improving analysis of standard costs including labor and overhead absorption.
• Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process and complete a realistic and achievable budget, for approval by the board of director
• Preparation of business cases and ROI analysis for key-investment decisions and new business opportunities, capital projects and IT investments
• Preparation of monthly financial reports, including analysis of performance against budget
• Safeguard the company’s assets and establish and maintain corporate accounting policies, procedures and internal controls to ensure conformance with International GAAP and other laws/regulations of Ghana.
• Secure donor funding and grants with follow up of related reporting
• Support external auditor requests
• Support the General Manager and executive team on key financial decisions
• Work with other members of finance team and the executive team to prepare board and investor materials.

Requirements

GENERAL WORK DESCRIPTION:

 Outturn tracking for all the commodity lots issued to processing enduring variances are within acceptable standards.
 Ensures all expenses are reported on weekly basis to the FC and Business managers
 Preparation of month end report (Stock position/reconciliation, expense report)
 other duties as instructed by management from time to time.

EXPERIENCE:
 1-3 years of general accounting experience
 Good Knowledge of excel

 Degree in Accounting Related Field
 BSc in Accounting-Part Qualified CA accepted

Job Summary
Our client, a global commodities and supply chain merchant, operating in Cocoa, Coffee, Cotton, Edible Nuts and Ingredients is actively recruiting the role of Cashew Kernel Trader for Europe for its Edible Nuts and Ingredients Division.
This role would suit a seasoned agro-commodities professional with first-hand experience in sourcing, sales, trading, shipping and with at least 5 years’ experience working with a global trading company, specifically cashew kernel trading. The role involves co-ordinating with all origin countries and clients/ brokers. The role is based in Amsterdam or London, reports into the Head of Trading for Cashew in Dubai and is supported by the trade execution team in Dubai.
The right candidate will be on a succession plan to heading the cashew kernel/ edible nuts trading desk in Europe.

Duties and Responsibilities

The role will have the following key responsibilities across the business:
• Sales of cashew kernel (and other edible nuts) to various clients in European markets
• Relationship management at one to one level with all key stake holders in the region such as buyers, suppliers, brokers, service providers etc.
• Networking and development of new set of customers / suppliers and service providers
• Leveraging from current relationships of the company's cocoa/ coffee and cotton desk in the region.
• Sourcing of various products from the basket on FOB Model
• Ensure documentation control for all shipping/ trade documentation including export documents, import documents, letters of credit, shipping instructions etc are in place

Qualifications and experience
• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, marketing, sales, finance or another business-related field.
• Minimum of 10 years’ professional experience, including at least 5 year’s experience handling logistics and shipping operations for a global commodities company
• Specific cashew kernel trading experience
• Experience of sales of other edible into other markets e.g. North America and Australia, preferred
