Support Team (lodge) in South Africa
, South Africa
Ama Amanzi Bush Lodge is looking for a Support Team.
Who is ready for a GREAT experience? And possibly a new future…
For our lodge, www.ama-amanzi.com, we are looking for a Support Team regarding daily management of the lodge. Daily management consists of two main responsibilities: 1. Guests, and 2. Maintenance of the lodge. A minimum period of three months is required Yet preferably longer. We see options in two ways which can be a recurring one or a longer cooperation. Start date depending on possibilities for both parties.
Profile of the Support Team: Two people who know each other well and have been through a few stages of life together. Therefore an age indicator is between 30-60 years young. You feel comfortable with yourselves and with each other. You are self-assured and have respect for other ones property. The main characteristics are: trustworthy, extremely positive, independent, technical, communicative, flexible, entrepreneurial attitude throughout, hands-on, easy going, cooperative and thick skinned. Furthermore you find fulfillment in making people happy, sharing good things, cooking for guests and interact with different cultures. And you see it as a challenge to organize all behind the scenes so guests’ experiences are GREAT, not just good. Your mentality is that of never giving up, after a fail you stand up, learn and continue and you have a well-developed sense of pragmatism and you can keep everything in perspective.
You are comfortable in a bush environment, quiet and remote and love dogs. Comfortable living in the bush without permanent power. You are able to keep yourselves busy when no guests are present at the lodge and you are willing to run the extra 25.000 miles at busy times. You get energized by helping Ama Amanzi getting more guests in and keep up the excellent maintenance. And you strive to continue our 5 out of 5 star rating! You continue the excellent status which Ama Amanzi has accomplished over the last few years of her existence. We are proud owner of the Certificate of Excellence and have an average score of 9.7 (out of 10)
The ideal team is mature in age, has some management experience, preferably some hospitality experience, know what it is like to live and work in Africa and is very stable both personal and business wise. Close cooperation with the director is key and executing existing procedures and proven successful methods and approaches is expected.
We assume you are comfortable with MS Office and modern media and have some understanding of business administration. Fluent in English is important and we consider speaking Afrikaans as a "nice to have". An extremely positive attitude is your way of life, throughout all; you understand that we only reflect positive thoughts towards guests. You are flexible and capable of making plans the very last minute. You have a professional attitude 24/7. You as the Support Team is seen as the operational management team of the lodge and has quite a bit of responsibilities. You will sometimes encounter hard and difficult times yet the joy, fulfillment and fun will prevail.
The offer
We offer you an unique experience based on housing and food, besides that a smartphone and a car is available, bush-Wi-Fi, and all the lodges’ facilities. A new (temporary) life in the bush and maybe even a new business cooperation.
Business experience to the fullest; hospitality, marketing, sales, intercultural experience and much more. It is hard and irregular work, pretty self-managerial and awesome!
A chance of a lifetime!
