We are currently looking for a young experienced, qualified and motivated financial controller to join and further develop our Finance and Administration team and activities in a long-term perspective.

Role:
The Finance and Admin Manager will be responsible to professionalize, enhance and guide the KPL’s finance, procurement and IT departments, with the objective of enabling management, shareholders, and departments to make sound financial decisions based on transparent financial planning and reporting.

Tasks and responsibilities:
In this role you will report to the Managing Director and your responsibilities will comprise:
• All matters pertaining to the overall management of the finance, accounting, procurement and IT departments.
• Ensure that all interfaces to support other departments are clearly defined and working accordingly to support the farm department and operations.
• Develop suitable reporting templates and monitor overall administration.

Skills:
A candidate envisaged for this role will have the following skills:
• In depth knowledge and experience of accounting and firm grasp of accounting principles and financial statements.
• Ability to monitor, forecast, assess and interpret corporate financial performance
• Strong leadership, sound judgment and strong organization skills.
• Analytical management skills with an accurate attention to detail, yet hands-on approach.
• Knowledge of largescale commercial agriculture preferable.
• Excellent team player

Experience:
A candidate envisaged for this role will have:
• Education: Undergraduate Degree in Accounting/Finance/or equivalent;
• Work Experience: 3 - 5 years of experience in Accounting or Finance, preferably in an international accounting/ auditing or financial advisory firm
• Fluent in English, preferably in Swahili
• Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. Navision)
• Experience and interest to live and work in Tanzania on a long-term perspective.

Algemene informatie
Wij zijn een stichting die sinds 24 jaar Nederlands taal onderwijs voorziet aan kinderen tussen de 6 en 18 jaar waarvan de ouders werkzaam zijn in Tanzania. De leerlingen gaan naar een internationale dagschool, en volgen na de reguliere schooltijd 3 uur per week de Nederlandse taal- en cultuurlessen. Er wordt les gegeven op twee lokaties, in Arusha en Moshi, twee steden in het noorden van Tanzania die op 80 km van elkaar liggen. De Stichting maakt gebruik van de faciliteiten van de International School Moshi. Op dit moment geeft 1 docent les aan 23 leerlingen.

Functie
Daarom zoeken wij naar een enthousiaste docent Nederlands die:
• lessen kan verzorgen aan Voortgezet Onderwijs en Basisonderwijs in combinatiegroepen
• toetsen organiseert en het leerlingvolgsysteem bijhoudt, tweemaal per jaar rapporten maakt betreffende de vorderingen van de leerlingen en daarover oudergesprekken houdt,
• leermiddelen, bibliotheek en gebruiksmateriaal bijhoudt,
• affiniteit en enthousiasme heeft voor het ontwerpen en organiseren van culturele activiteiten,
• bereid is diverse niet-lesgebonden taken op zich te nemen,
• bereid is op beide lokaties te werken en daar te overnachten,
• regelmatig contact met de ouders en andere scholen onderhoudt,

Het is een functie met ongeveer 16-20 klokuren lestijd. Het aantal lesuren kan variëren naar gelang het aantal leerlingen en bedraagt momenteel 16h40min.

Profiel
We zoeken een docent met erkende bevoegdheid Voortgezet Onderwijs en bij voorkeur minimum twee jaar onderwijservaring in Nederland en/of in het buitenland heeft. De ideale kandidaat is op de hoogte van ontwikkelingen van het Nederlandse taalonderwijs, bij voorkeur in de bovenbouw van het het Voortgezet Onderwijs; heeft kennis van het aanbieden van Nederlandse onderwijs aan leerlingen in een NT2-situatie; is op de hoogte van het Leerling Volgsysteem van het CITO en heeft bij voorkeur ervaring met International Baccalaureate. Zeer belangrijk is dat de kandidaat zelfstandig kan werken, flexibel is en vlot Engels spreekt.

Our client is active in the forestry industry in Tanzania. With a turnover of just under 10 mln Dollar they run thousands of hectares of planted area. There are 5 expats in the company of the 320 employees. We have been retained to find their Planning Manager.

In close collaboration with external advisors, the candidate administrates the research and development programs of the company’s forestry assets. The overall objective is to provide the client with detailed maps and manage data on its forestry and conservation activities.

The Planning manager will conduct regular field surveys and monitor and report growth and progress indicators. He / she assists the company in resource planning and drawing up long term harvesting and thinning plans. He / she will manage teams conducting enumeration, thinning marking and thinning control to monitor and optimise the plantation growth actively.
There are external advisors the Planning Manager is closely working together with. The advisors are there to achieve long term Development and Research Goals.
Besides above activities, the Planning Manager is responsible for implementation of the company’s FSC Controlled Wood and Chain of Custody program and maintain certification.

Requirements
• 3-5 years’ experience in a planning and mapping orientated role in a commercial agricultural or forestry environment
• Tertiary Degree in Forestry or related courses or extensive working experience in a resource orientated environment
• Experience with reporting statistics composed of analysed data, implementing trials
• Experience with FSC Certification systems
• Familiar with software like MicroForest
• Familiar with GIS programs like ArcView and Resource / Forestry
• This role is based remotely in rural Tanzania. More than 50% of your time is spent outside the office on field work

Job Description
To give leadership during installation and startup of a new Packing House. After the set up the packing House Manager will provide overall direction and guidance to the operational activities of the processing plant with the objective of maximizing operational efficiencies and profitability. Assures high production output, high quality product, and wastes reduction, elimination of safety issues and controls overhead/labor costs. He / she will provide day-to-day leadership and management of processing functions to maximize both productivity and profitability while ensuring the company exceed food safety requirements and maintain a safe working environment. He is required to perform a variety of management, administrative as well as physical functions to ensure timely and accurate processing. Responsible for the supervision of personnel and operations in the execution of produce receiving and packing functions.


Main Responsibilities of the position are:

Requirements
• Must have 5+ years Fruit Processing or Food Manufacturing experience.
• Must have at least 3 years' experience as a Plant/ Operations Manager running a Fruit Processing or Food Processing Plant.
• Must be able to lead a processing plant in a very fast paced environment.
• Solid technical operating skills in a food environment, including processing, equipment, food safety basics, maintenance systems, production and inventory control and information systems.
• Qualified candidates will have processing, logistics and warehousing/shipping experience.
• Experience developing appropriate policies and procedures to ensure compliance within manufacturing, operational practices, applicable laws and GMPs/food safety requirements.
• Strong ability to inspire and motivate self and others. Experience building and maintaining a high-performing team. Must be hands-on with employees in a labor-intensive environment.
• Ability to lead and motivate individuals/teams and committed to excellence and continuous learning and improvement.
• Able to work very long hours during our busy season or as business activities demand. Plant operations are seven days a week during Mid-July to Early September.
• Ability to speak Spanish to communicate with Spanish speaking workforce an asset.
• Experience with optical sorting equipment an asset.
• Experience in the cherry industry an asset.
• Computer Proficient – Outlook, MS WORD and MS Excel application minimum. Knowledge of SAP an asset.

FUNCTION
The Senior Program Manager provides leadership and management for all Heifer Tanzania Programs in the field, including leading the planning, design, development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the country programs and ensuring the quality of projects, implementation, reporting, and field level management is of the highest standards.

With the support of the Deputy Country Director, He/ She leads the process for developing and growing Heifer Tanzania’s Program to reflect a fair balance in the project portfolios that will include but are not limited to Dairy Development, Climate Change, Pastoralists and Small Ruminant Development.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DELIVERABLES

Program Management (25%)
- Assume overall responsibility for the management of all Heifer Tanzania programs and provide line management support to all Program Managers and Project Coordinators.
- Support Program Managers and Project Coordinators (PC’s) in the management of field resources and project budgets and ensure these are used in compliance with approved guidelines.
- Implement annual performance management process for all Program Managers and Project Coordinators and support them to ensure these cascades to all Program staff.
- Ensure that program field staff clear advances monthly.

Deliverables
- Staff performance management system for all program staff implemented on a quarterly and annual basis.
- Enhanced compliance and accountability in the management of project resources, achieving 100% compliance.
- Planned milestones are achieved by the projects annually.
- Ensure 100% compliance donor contractual obligations by all the project staff.

Program Planning and Budgeting (15%)
- Support all project teams to develop annual budgets and workplans consistent with project documents and donor contracts.
- Support teams in undertaking the necessary review and updating of the workplans and budgets to respond to emerging field implementation challenges and project review processes.
- Lead the field program in the Letters of Agreement (LOA) revision process based on the ground performance and realities.
- Support in the review of the Heifer Tanzania Country program Framework

Deliverables
- Project workplans and budgets (annual, quarterly and monthly) developed for all approved projects every financial year and implemented in line with project documents and work plans.
- Periodic and timely reviews of budgets and reforecasting of all approved projects workplans undertaken and shared with Headquarters and respective donors, ensuring alignment with the donor contracts.
- Biannual and annual review of the Tanzania Country Program Framework with clear actions to address any gaps that may be observed.

Budget Management and Monitoring (15%)
- In coordination with the finance department and the Deputy Country Director, undertake monthly and quarterly budget monitoring and variance analysis with all Program Managers and support the projects in reviewing and tracking spending to adhere to annual budgets.
- Lead the Program Managers in undertaking corrective management actions arising out of budget monitoring reports.
- In coordination with the Finance department and the Deputy Country Director, approve program related requests for imprest and reconciliations in line with work plans and financial management procedures.

Deliverables
- Monthly and Quarterly activity and budget reports for all ongoing projects highlighting status of project spending are completed and presented in the monthly operational meetings.
- Implementing and tracking all the proposed corrective measures to address variances, ensuring that the spending is brought on track within the planned period.
- Ensure program request for imprests and reconciliations approved in line with workplans and financial management procedures.
- Ensure monthly procurement plans are designed and submitted by project teams a head of deadlines.

Program Development and Fundraising (15%)
- In collaboration with the Deputy Country Director, support Program development work with all the regional teams to grow and develop Tanzania Programs portfolio.
- Support Heifer Tanzania’s fundraising work through background information gathering, Concept Development and proposal development.
- Support field teams in ensuring that Heifer Tanzania interventions are appropriately designed and benefitting correctly targeted beneficiaries and creating the desired impact with participants

Deliverables
- At least three (3) partnerships are annually established for program development.
- Effective designs and models are developed and incorporated in new projects in order to achieve the required scale and impacts.

Documentation and lessons learned (10%)
- Support country projects in developing and documenting lessons learned and experiences for dissemination and sharing to inform future project development.
- Provide leadership in incorporating lessons learned into projects being designed and implemented.

Deliverables
- Ensure at least two successful cases per year per ongoing project are documented from projects and disseminated through different platforms.
- Ensure that the Lessons learned from projects documented and disseminated to stakeholders before end of each project.
- Successful business models documented before end of projects for replication or scale up.

Required Skills

Most Critical Proficiencies:

What are you going to do?
Due to an increase in our activities we are looking to expand our growing department at our location in Tanzania. You are responsible for all cultivation activities for the various crops during the entire production cycle, from germination to seed and cutting production. At present the crops are Cyclamen, Primula and Campanula. You are responsible for all duties associated with care of the plants, fertilization and crop protection. You are a technical growing specialist with a bachelor's in horticulture from a university of applied sciences with specialisation in plant cultivation. You have considerable experience in plant cultivation, preferably the (flower) seed production. You have knowledge and experience of technical installations in modern production greenhouses.
