Job Summary
As the Regional Partnership Manager - Africa, you will be both an excellent strategic thinker and a diligent project manager; You have to always keep in mind the evolving corporate strategic goals, competitive landscape and needs from partners in order to prioritize, define, close and deliver partnership deals that add the most value to BitPesa vision, mission and strategy. You also need to be a team player to actively partner with various internal functions (Product, Legal & Compliance, Operations, Engineering, Sales & Marketing) to communicate and collaborate effectively to ensure seamless execution from the beginning to the end.

You will need to conduct industry, market and company research, originate contacts, qualify inbound partnership deals, outreach to initiate meetings, prepare pitching materials, negotiate partnership terms, close and execute the deals!

Key Responsibilities:
As the Regional Partnership Manager - Africa, your responsibility will be to
- Conduct market research to identify market trends and potential high-value partners, contacts of key decision makers and make assumptions to size/prioritize opportunities
- Originate and lead partnership engagement from leads generation, initial contacts, pitch, align with various partners’ team, prepare business case to close the partnership contract
- Work with various BitPesa internal teams to deliver partnership projects
- Lead/Support other special strategy project(s) upon request

Requirements:
- At least 3-5 working experiences in a similar role from financial institutions (Banks, Telco, FinTech) in Africa
- Critical problem solving ability and attention to details
- Familiar with using PowerPoint or Keynote to produce executive-friendly presentations
- Goal oriented, self-motivated and confident, thorough and determined, along with analytical skills
- Excellent organizational, project management, time management, communication and presentation skills

Quality Assurance Manager in Nigeria , Nigeria

Overall purpose of the role:
The Interim Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for strategic leadership, technical guidance, and management of the DRC Nigeria portfolio. The purpose of the position is to lead a team of three (3) to develop and/maintain systems and tools for efficient grant management; and ensure proactive and coordinated approach to risk-management in cooperation with the finance, other departments and colleagues as appropriate.

Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and management oversight of the DRC Nigeria Quality Assurance department, with a portfolio including: grants management, programme quality, monitoring and evaluation, reporting, and information management;
- Line manage and provide technical support to the Grants/Communications Specialist, M&E Specialist and the Grants Officer;
- In coordination with the DRC/DDG Head of Programmes, Technical Sector Coordinators and Area managers ensure high quality and evidence-based programme design and proposal development, monitoring and evaluation, and learning processes are streamlined throughout the country mission;
- Support the Country Director and Heads of Programmes to identify fundraising opportunities and take responsibility for timely submission of all concept notes and proposals;
- Systematize DRC Nigeria M&E and ensure project specific M&E is establish, for the ease of reporting, and programme accountability;
- Develop and maintain processes for grant and contract management; ensuring they remain applicable to current donor requirements;
- Ensure timely compliance with all internal and external grants management requirements, including contractual compliance and reporting;
- Ensure preparation and submission of monthly project updates for OFDA, FFP and ECHO. Using the previously developed templates that were agreed with donors
- Proactively manage grant and contract performance, working with Programme and Support colleagues to identifying risks and minimize them;
- Liaise with relevant DRC West Africa Regional Office and HQ counterparts responsible for programme design, reporting, and monitoring and evaluation;
- Coordinate and provide timely reporting and feedback to the Head of Programmes, Country Director and SMT on Quality Assurance unit activities.

Experience and technical competencies:
- Five years of professional experience in humanitarian emergency contexts with PDQA responsibilities, preferable to have at least two years of experience at senior management level;
- Knowledge and experience working with relevant sectoral areas implemented by DRC-DDG Nigeria programmes – including protection, food security, WASH, shelter, NFIs, mine action, mine risk education, and armed violence reduction;
- Proven ability to lead a high performing and diverse team, manage performance, foster a positive working environment and manage issues sensitively and diplomatically;
- Extensive knowledge of US and European institutional donors and their compliance requirements with proven experience of developing successful funding proposals and overseeing large complex grants;
- Excellent understanding of the principles of budgeting, financial and contract management;
- Outcome focused and proven ability to think strategically and plan, prioritize and organize a department/team’s work to meet organization-wide strategic objectives;
- Excellent influencing, presentation and communication skills including verbal and written English, active listening and the ability to tailor communication to different audiences;
- Ability to manage a large and varied workload, work under pressure and meet deadlines;
- Illustrated commitment to, and a good understanding of, the DRC’s values and mandate and the ability to bring these alive in your work
- Ability to live and work in an insecure and high stress environment.

Education:
- Advanced university degree (or bachelor level qualification with equivalent years of professional experience) in a relevant field such as social sciences, development studies, international / humanitarian law, communications or similar;
- Relevant professional humanitarian qualifications / recognized training certificates in Grants-related areas (M&E, IM, CHS, SPHERE, Protection, etc.) are desirable, although practical experience more essential to the role.

Languages: (indicate fluency level)
- English – fluent, with demonstrated capacity for high quality written and verbal command of the language
- Hausa and other languages used in northeast Nigeria an asset, but not essential to the position.

About the programme
The LINKS Programme will result in increased income of GBP 3 million in northern Nigeria, with specific challenging targets for women and people living with disability through new jobs, farming incomes and self-employment opportunities, including the creation of 100,000 jobs. The programme will work primarily in the three northern states of Kano, Kaduna and Jigawa. The value chains with the highest potential are identified as agriculture, renewable energy and renewable off-grid power solutions and ICT. This programme is the successor of GEMS, which has been a successful DFID intervention. The LINKS programme will be implemented for 7 years.

Job description of the Team Leader
You will be responsible for (but not limited to):
• Provide overall leadership and technical direction for the program, including leading the strategic planning, implementation and reporting.
• Overall programme management, including people management and oversight of progress
• Stakeholder management, and acting as the principal point of contact with program and technical staff, government partners, private sector, service providers
• Design, develop and implement strategies and project work plans
• Lead the process of collecting, synthesising and disseminating clear information through technical reports as well as regular progress reports.
• Communicate effectively with other projects, donors, and other stakeholders for raising awareness about the program and for ensuring collaborative engagement

Requirements for the Team Leader.
• Degree in economics, business, or related fields
• Experience of over 15 years in developing countries for private sector dev projects, ideally in Nigeria and the region, SSA
• Successfully delivered large complex, multi-year, multi-disciplinary DFID projects for business environment reform, investment climate reform, private sector development
• Successfully delivered results for women’s economic empowerment, inclusion of the youth
• Deep understanding of constraints to the private sector in Nigeria, especially in the North
• Experience implementing DFID procedures, policies, and reporting requirements.
• Good understanding of the government economic policy, and experience of managing public private dialogue successfully
• Established track record of achieving results within difficult working environments

Responsibilities:

Manage Social Media marketing campaigns and day-to-day activities including:

The BBC World Service remains the leading international broadcaster in Africa, reaching a weekly audience of more than 100 million across all platforms and Social Media.Globally, the BBC reaches a weekly audience of 320 million weekly across various platforms.

Over the next four years, the BBC World Service will be expanding its multimedia operations in Africa by doubling the number of language services from 6 to 12.

Three of the new language services, Pidgin, Yoruba and Igbo, will serve our audiences in Nigeria and West Africa. You will be based in Kano, working alongside our operation in Abuja from where the BBC currently produces its Hausa service output. There is a strong emphasis on reaching and connecting with young audiences.

We are now looking for a reporter with strong digital journalism and language skills (Pidgin, Yoruba and Igbo, as well as English) to work in Kano.

This role involves working irregular hours including weekends and public holidays.

Role Responsibility
The BBC is looking for an excellent reporter to produce a dynamic range of digital content - audio and video - which will appeal to a young audience. The successful candidate will have some experience of reporting for a digital media organization. Fluent in Pidgin and English (written and spoken), you will have experience of field reporting, delivering creative output for digital and social media platforms. An excellent knowledge of local, regional and international news and current affairs is essential, including a good understanding of a broad editorial agenda. You will have knowledge of and recent experience of living in the target area, including a good understanding of the complexities of Nigeria. You will have good local contacts. Ability to work under pressure and react to breaking news is essential. You must be a self-starter, with a strong ability to work independently.

You must have work authorization for Nigeria.

The Ideal Candidate
- A full command of Pidgin as first (or equivalent) language is essential. An additional language Hausa, Yoruba, or Igbo is desirable.
- An excellent understanding of written and spoken English for journalism and the ability to communicate effectively.
- A digital media background and social media journalism experience preferable, you will ideally have a strong screen presence for coverage online and on social media.
- A good broadcasting voice and presence and the ability to acquire the appropriate presentation style to communicate effectively with listeners in Pidgin and English.
- Experience of field reporting on political, economic and trending social issues is desirable. So is the ability to demonstrate a good range of contacts for interview purposes.
- Knowledge of wider regional or international affairs will be an advantage.
- A good understanding of the needs of a young digitally-savvy audience in the region and an empathy with them is essential.
- Ability to convey story and programme ideas in an exciting way and to contribute fully to the planning process.
- A knowledge of and aptitude for, using modern broadcast and recording (audio & video) digital technology.
- A record of demonstrating good interpersonal skills and an understanding of the importance of working as a part of a team, especially at a distance, as well as working independently.
