Our client is a young and fast growing cocoa trading company that has the ambition to connect the cocoa supply chain participants in the most efficient and effective way. Sustainability is a key pillar of the company.

The Job:
The company is looking for a liaison officer for Africa. Together with the local sustainability team in Ivory Coast and program partners they need you to set-up and supervise programs, increase impact in our supply chains, and build a strong Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) structure to report outcomes. You will be the connector of their farmers, communities, middlemen, exporters, NGO’s, research institutes, public- and private parties. Together you will build dedicated sustainable supply chains.

Your key responsibilities will be to:
• Follow-up on program design and execution in Africa. Mainly in Ivory Coast, but with regular travels to Ghana, Cameroon, Nigeria and potentially Tanzania and Madagascar.
• Execute and up-scale certification activities, in collaboration with partners like GiZ, FIRCA, ICRAF, UTZ Certified, and ICI. Current cert+ programs include:
o A gender program with women cocoa cooperatives.
o A cook stove and biofuel study.
o A cocoa agroforestry and biodiversity program
o A compost production pilot.
• Nutrition and children education pilots are under development.
• Support 2-pager reviews on various sustainability topics to share findings with the cocoa industry.
• Maintain relationships with our farmer groups, exporters, and clients.
• Identify new local partners and co-investors for program up-scaling.
• Contribute to fund proposals.
• Support our M&E structure, existing of open source software (R, QGIS).
• Report market info and program progress to our sustainability department in Europe.

The team
You will be working in our dynamic sustainability team in Ivory Coast currently consisting of 4 field agents, 1 certification specialist, 1 M&E officer, and 1 country sustainability manager. In close collaboration with the sustainability and trade desks in Europe you will strengthen the relationships with local suppliers and partners in the named countries. There is a strong focus on Ivory Coast, but they are expanding their representation and sustainability partnerships in Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, Tanzania and Madagascar where you will help connecting farmers to middlemen, exporters, governments, NGO’s, bean to bar chocolate makers, and the world’s leading chocolate makers.

Skills we are looking for
• An academic degree in international development studies, agriculture, or other related fields.
• At least 2 years of experience in the international development sector.
• A passionate and ambitious worker.
• Fluent in French and English.
• Excellent networking, communication and presentation skills.
• Being a fast-growing company we are looking for a self-starter. You need to be efficient on an independent basis as well as in a team.
• Statistical scripting skills (R, SAS) are an advantage.

region in two years time. The company sells solar home lighting systems on a “pay-per-use” basis, making cleaner energy much more affordable, especially to users with low income.

The Position
Title: Cote d’Ivoire Country Manager (previously posted as Sales and Operations Manager)
The company will be expanding into Cote d’Ivoire in 2016, and is seeking a capable individual to turn a startup into the
largest off grid solar company in the country. This person will initially be responsible for recruitment of a
management team, leadership of that team to build and manage sales and customer service
infrastructure, and initial and ongoing implementation of the companies Cote d’Ivoire program.

Responsibilities:
Setup of the Cote d’Ivoire branch prior to launch
• Legal setup of Cote d’Ivoire business and setup of office
• Recruitment of Cote d’Ivoire management team (Customer Care, HR, Sales) and initial staff as needed
• Setup of importation
• Development of partnerships with Mobile Network Operators (MNOs)
• Selection of initial service center locations and recruitment of sales staff to run them
• Setup of office teams- call center, inventory, data and finance (data and finance supported from Accra)

Launch and ongoing leadership of the Cote d’Ivoire branch with support from Ghana HQ:
• Grow sales team and hit sales targets
• General management of company’s operations
• Manage P+L of company

Basic Qualifications:
• Fluent in French and English
• At least 5 years experience in private sector, including leadership roles, with at least 2 years experience
in a developing country
• Experience managing teams of Africans
• Experience selling to rural villagers in Africa, or experience managing sales agent networks in rural and

Position Summary:
Responsible for the development and management of sustainability partnerships in West Africa and Latin America. Drive the interaction and engagement with multinational clients and define global sustainability strategy for the group. Primary Responsibilities:
• Liaise between the project implementation partners in the origins and the key multinational clients.

• Engage with potential donors and NGOs.

Supply Chain
• Assess and audit existing partners in the cocoa origins which implement the company's sustainability targets. Identify new potential partners in Africa and Latin America.
• Develop in-depth understanding of up-country supply chain from farmer level to export level at the different origins.
• Develop business plan for new partnerships and sustainability projects in line with growth of the business in Ivory Coast and globally.

Client Engagement
• Identify new clients for existing and upcoming sustainability programs.
• Increase sales of certified and sustainable products.
• Interaction with the sustainability managers of clients and partners in Ivory Coast.
• Meetings and visits to clients based in Europe and North America.

Profile
• Master Degree in Engineering/Business/other to be evaluated.

Job Description
The position is a full time for Business advisor/Financial specialist for Ivory Coast with good knowledge of the West Africa fruit sector. The advisor is responsible for providing hands-on approach to fruit companies; assisting in developing business plans and proposals for funds.

Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the key responsibilities of the Business Advisor and Financial Specialist include:
- Organization of quarterly Business Platform meetings; which are high-level meetings for private sector representatives, researchers and policy makers.
- Development of new commercial loan products specifically focused at fruit sector in Ivory Coast and possible Burkina Faso, targeting both smallholder farmers and small-and medium sized companies.
- Management of two cluster development funds that target specific fruit hotspots in the Ivory Coast and possible Burkina Faso; develop a multi stakeholder platform and public-private action agenda.
- Support trade missions, trade fairs and other business-to-business activities.
- Pro-actively explore new Business Opportunities in the West Africa fruit sector.

Qualifications
- Candidate must be Bi-lingual with good working knowledge in English and French.
- Minimum ten years’ experience working in private sector development, preferably in Ivory Coast’s horticulture sector;
- Minimum of five years’ experience in project management in leadership positions;
- Master’s degree in one of the following: business administration, agricultural economics/extension, business administration, and/or related field;

Excellent analytical and written skills for developing business case studies and contributing to sector reports;
- Proficiency in the use of computer Microsoft office applications;
- Business minded within a development contact focused on commercialisation of the fruit sector (inclusive business).
