IDC, the leading global IT and telecoms market research and advisory firm, is seeking a Senior Research Analyst to support research activities for its vertical research in META region. The position is located in Cairo, Egypt at IDC Egypt.

- Update and maintain Vertical Spending Guide (bi-annual) and Vertical Markets database (annual).
- Support all the verticals work related to all the other Spending Guides (deadlines spread throughout the year; calls almost every week)
- Closely work with the various programs in IDC META region to conduct verticals research. The main activities include collecting data from the programs, consolidating and reviewing them, understanding the market trends, and updating the verticals database. Work in close co-operation with the verticals/Insights market research team based in CEMA HQ (Prague).
- Develop market understanding through primary and secondary research which includes activities such as monitoring and analyzing industry news and articles, interviewing of local and international firms, attending press and other public conferences, and attending vendor briefings.
- Publish multiple vertical market reports annually as per standard IDC research practices.
- Conduct and contribute to custom verticals research and data cuts and act as a shared resource for consulting projects.

- Excellent analytical skills

- Expertise in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word software packages.

PayGo Energy, based in Nairobi, Kenya, has developed smart metering systems that enable customers to purchase gas in small amounts directly from traditional
gas cylinders. PayGo’s software platform monitors gas levels remotely, allowing for cylinders to be exchanged before they run out; providing an uninterrupted supply of clean energy for populations that were previously underserved.

Job Description
The Head of Software is a mission critical role that will take PayGo’s platform from hundreds of users to millions. As lead engineer, you will design, build,
and maintain PayGo’s infrastructure while working directly with leadership on PayGo’s overarching software strategy.

• To increase sales and market share of Siemon products throughout the territory via direct promotion to targeted end users and consultants in line with the Europe Russia Africa (ERA) strategic plan.

Specific Responsibilities
1. The generation of revenue to assigned budgetary levels via the promotion of Siemon Company products and services in line with the ERA Plan.
2. Manage the activities of the territory by creating business plans that support our ERA focus and strategy for the territory.
3. Develop and maintain strong and effective business relationships with key personnel within the territory through regular visits and by providing remote support through telephone and written (including electronic) communications.
4. Provision of training and technical support as required to the channel.
5. Increase our penetration by working closely with our distributor partners in the region as part of our channel strategy.
6. Develop and implement processes for the ongoing analysis of performance in the territory. Set benchmarks for performance levels and recommendations for corrective action or increased sales and support.
7. Utilise all sales reporting and sales management tools and systems in order to achieve sales objectives in the most efficient manner possible.
8. Utilise the support of our marketing department to increase and improve the image within the territory.
9. Perform administrative duties efficiently, supplying accurate and realistic forecasts, monthly reports, project tracking and Customer profiles, etc, in agreed formats and to pre-determined timescales.
10. Leverage internal company resources (Technical Support, Product Champions, Global Product Management, etc) as appropriate to carry out the role effectively.
