We are looking for a recent university graduate with education in business, sales & marketing to come in and immediately make an impact on the organization. We are rapidly growing and in we therefore have a variety of tasks that need to be performed. In addition to the daily workload, we expect the professional can support in creating processes and supporting other functions, including development of distribution channels.

Ideal candidates will possess:
• Between 22 years and 28 years old
• University level degree with some combination of business, economics, sales & marketing (supply chain elements a plus)
• 0 - 4 years’ experience working in fast moving consumer goods, FMCG, with preference for candidates with some cold chain experience or knowledge
• Capable in MS Word, MS Excel, Google, latest Android OS knowledge, and Apps.
• High energy and positive spirit, will be working alongside range of skill and experience levels as we build a new channel in Kenya (amazingly, fresh fish is not available in most parts of Kenya today)

Job Description:
• Travels to markets and interfaces with potential new customers, existing customers and various channel sales reps. Markets include wet markets, fish and meat markets, slum-based markets, and small town markets
• Will meet with hotel, restaurant, and other premium potential customers (United Nations, government, etc.)
• Able to work with modern web tools to develop new methods of communicating with customers, keeping tabs on their growth and development, etc.
• Works closely with Sales Operations department and Finance department to ensure daily accuracy of records, and helps improve processes and controls on an ongoing basis
• Updates company database by inputting data from field sales, compiling, consolidating, formatting and summarizing information, graphs and presentations and distributing reports.
• Capable of generating marketing and training literature
• Compiling account and competitor analysis
• Expected to spend considerable effort and time training local team on controls, processes, and new market development
• Expected to travel throughout Kenya to new cities, markets, and help develop new distribution strategies, and execute on those pilots and ideas
• Work weeks are expected at 5.5 days per week — of course we will also want you to take some time to enjoy Kenya, too, but the workweek itself is rather intense in Kenya and we have to follow the local market practices since we operate 300 days per year

VF will provide the following in compensation for the role, with associated values:
• Housing, $800 / month (housing unit provided near headquarters in Nairobi)
• Airfare, $1,000 budget for airfare to/from Europe once
• Work permit, $1,500 for 6 months
• Phone and laptop if needed (can also bring your own if you prefer)
• In-country Uber budget, $100 / month (any additional travel to new cities will also be covered by company)
• Living allowance, $500 / month gross pay

Jr. Operations Manager in Benin and Burkina Faso , Benin

Our client is zooming in on economically viable and sustainable business. They develop activities in Benin and Burkina Faso, limited to the local cashew processing industry. Chain development has the priority, with strong focus on food crop production and processing. The farm has a capacity to process 1500 ton of biological, fair trade and conventional cashew nut kernels and they have about 300 employees processing these nuts. The processed nuts are for the export market.

For this factory, we are looking for an Jr. Operations Manager to replace the current Operations Manager on short notice. This person should be a young professional that is able to manage and motivate the team in the factory, affiliation with Africa and good planning and leadership skills.

Job General:
The processing plant processes the raw nuts to be selected on different qualities for the European fair trade market. The right candidate will become the right hand of the General Manager. The role be seen as a traineeship in production management.

The position is part of the aspiration to become good performing in product buying, productivity, lean and profitable organisation and to fulfil the mission & vision of the company.

Main responsibilities:
* To oversee and manage operations / production process
* Coordinates and initiates improvements on the quality processes
* Helps and supports the General Manager
* Responsible for operational processes and optimisation and internal controls
* Implement weekly KPI to measure performance

* Junior Manager with 2-3 yrs. of working experience in logistics, planning, production, warehousing
* Fluent in English, good understanding of French preferred

* Structured in work methodology
* Stress resistant and flexible

Start date is as soon as possible

The Position:
Jibu is looking for a business-savvy, motivated problem-solver wishing to commit a minimum of two years to help lead a rapidly growing company to make profit while also making a big social impact. This successful candidate must be experienced as both a hands-on vendor manager and a detail-oriented system-builder that will have the capacity to mature an efficient supply chain, end to end, for our fast-moving consumer goods.

This position requires:
- Street smarts to navigate both formal and informal supply chain components to ensure product quality consistency, highly competitive pricing, and consistent supply
- Creativity and ability to build / design new products

The position is based in Kampala, Uganda or Nairobi, Kenya, accountable to Jibu’s Country Directors and will directly report to Jibu’s COO. The Operations and Supply Chain Manager (OSCM) will be operationally focused and responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of supply chain including procurement, purchasing, vendor management, transport and forwarding, customs brokerage, and inventory management. The majority of efforts will be to proactively identify and overcome supply chain gaps and weaknesses to effectively source cheaper materials, coordinate transport cost effectively and quickly, and, ultimately, ensure that Jibu remains hyper-competitive in product pricing while never being out of stock.

Additionally, the OSCM will be responsible for new product development as Jibu seeks to incorporate new products that meet basic needs in addition to the core product (water.) Finally, the OSCM will be responsible for more broadly supporting needs and plugging gaps and holes across Jibu’s E. Africa operations. Primary responsibilities will vary and require hands-on persistence, long hours, and agility to respond to the challenges/needs that arise day to day.
