Job description
* Stichting Bouwen Nederland is looking for: An enthusiastic young professional, with architectural engineering education and minimum Bachelor degree, with preferably experience in a similar function.

* Your tasks will be: As a Project Manager you will supervise and inspect multiple projects throughout Malawi. You are often on the road and you have to deal with many different contacts and parties.
* Your work environment: From our base in Limbe, Southern Region you will visit projects throughout Malawi. You will work with local (sub)contractors, suppliers, foremen and construction workers.

Tasks
• Legally represent Swisscontact within Mozambique and ensure the effective administrative/budget operations within the country; assume overall responsibility for overseeing all Swisscontact projects within Mozambique from project start, through project implementation to project conclusion;
• Implement a project to foster entrepreneurship through skills development of youth in the construction sector; engage with construction initiatives and support development of improved or alternative building materials;
• Support national and international networking in the construction sector within and outside of Swisscontact;
· Lead the positioning of Swisscontact in the international donor community as well as with public and private local stakeholders;
· Develop the Swisscontact project portfolio through acquisitions of new projects;
· Participate and represent Swisscontact in relevant national and international meetings, seminars, committees, working groups.

Requirements
• Master in technical science (civil engineering) or in TVET, economy or equivalent;
• At least 5 years of experience in managing projects and/or multi stakeholder initiatives, preferably in development cooperation in Sub Saharan Africa;
• Good knowledge of and practical experience in the use of methodologies related to skills development and/or entrepreneur-ship promotion, private sector experience, preferably in the construction sector as well as to Monitoring and Results Measurement;
· Strong leadership skills and experience in coordinating interdisciplinary and intercultural project teams;
· Capacity to elaborate concept notes and project proposals;
· Excellent skills in Portuguese and English (written and spoken); German as additional asset;
· Ability to think analytically and systemically; strong in innovation and creativity;
· Strong communication skills and team spirit, in an intercultural context.

Solar Panel Project Manager , Ghana

Our client is an international integrated juice group, with a fruit juice processing facility in Ghana. The company is installing a solar project on site for their own use and therefore they are recruiting a Solar Panel Supervisor that is responsible for the installation of the solar system and the connection and interfacing of the system to the existing electrical installation in the plant.

• Responsible for overseeing the installation of the support system including setting out of the area.
• Responsible for overseeing the fixing of the solar panels and the hiring of these to the invertors.

- Lynk Discover: An e-commerce product enabling workers on the platform to sell ready-to-buy products or services.
- Byld: A tech-based platform for the recruitment and management of workers on large construction sites.


ABOUT BYLD:
Byld is new product being launched by Lynk, enabling employers to recruit and manage large amounts of workers on building and construction sites. It seeks to provide a career identity for workers, whose profiles grow over time through the jobs they do. Byld has the potential to increase the regularity of work and incomes for the millions of informal workers in the construction sector across Africa, while improving productivity for construction firms. The product has applicability beyond the construction sector too, and we have interest from a number of companies in using the underlying technology for the recruitment and management of day labourers.


ABOUT THE CONSULTANCY:
​Lynk recently agreed on a partnership to pilot the Byld platform in Kenya, and is seeking a Consultant to spearhead the pilot, product development and business model. This consultancy has a high chance of transitioning into a fulltime role if the consultancy/pilots go well.

CONSULTANCY ACTIVITIES:
- Recruit an assistant to support in consultancy activities.
- Work with Lynk’s in-house construction team to adapt the existing prototype for practical rollout
- Work with engineering team to develop live app v1: Based on feedback from above, ensure that app v1 contains the right features & UX.
- Test App on Lynk-managed construction sites, and iterate.
- Lead partnership with partner(s) to adapt Byld product for external partnerships.
- Design & manage partner pilot: Design modality for pilot & questions to answer. Oversee the on-the-ground piloting, which maintain strong partnerships with the pilot partner while providing valuable insights into the product.
- App enhancement: Based off pilot(s), work with engineering team to implement adjustments to the app for change.
- Business model development: Flesh out business model canvas and propose pricing and operational model for Byld product.
- Relationship mapping & development: Identify further partnerships to grow the Byld initiative.

COMPENSATION:
The consultant will be paid on a monthly basis at a fixed rate commensurate with experience.

IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:
- MBA (or related field: Social Enterprise, Human-Centered Design, etc.).
- Entrepreneurial personality / self-starter – able to take responsibility and undertake tasks with minimal supervision.
- Experience conducting market research, product design, and/or business modeling in Kenya.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills.
