Your new field of activity
The Cameroon branch of the "Association Foi et Justice" is a network in Africa founded by religious congregations and aims to contribute to the resolution and transformation of conflicts exacerbated by migratory movements of internally displaced persons and to overcome the social consequences. The position aims to ensure the sustainable establishment of the observation teams in different regions in order to obtain first-hand information on the situation of IDPs in Cameroon. The aim is to initiate a social change that will sustainably improve coexistence with the original population. In this context, the partner organization is the only organization in our program working on the thematic complex of climate and peace.

The coordination includes the following tasks:
- You advise and support the advocacy work of the partner organization and thus contribute to peaceful coexistence as well as peaceful conflict resolution between IDPs and the original population.
- You will train your colleagues in participatory advocacy techniques and adult education.
- You support the creation of effective and sustainable advocacy campaigns.
- You will accompany the monitoring of the campaigns and support and train the monitoring teams in the different regions (traveling).
- You will be responsible for the proper spending and management of funds in the field according to donor guidelines and Agiamondo requirements. In doing so, you will work in partnership with the partner organization.

Your profile
- You have a university degree in political, social or communication sciences; professional experience in the African context is advantageous.
- You bring practical knowledge of structuring and implementing lobby and advocacy campaigns.
- You have experience in refugee and IDP work.
- You enjoy empowering people in their activities, accompanying them in their further development and bring practical experience in adult education.
- You belong to a Christian church, can act appropriately in a church environment and identify with Christian values.

Junior Procurement Officer in Cameroon , Cameroon

General Description:

The Junior Procurement Officer (“Officer”) will be developing himself, and will be assisted in such a development, to a member of the procurement and trade team and will be able to independently contribute on a medium term through:
• Management of procurement operations
• Trading physical cocoa, cocoa futures and options and foreign exchange
• Preparing and conducting market research for trading, management and marketing purposes

The Officer plays an important role in the set-up and growth of the company’s cocoa business in the origins: he connects the company to two of its major stakeholders, the suppliers and our partners in selected origins in West-Africa and Latin America. The Officer’s primary responsibility is to assist the Head of Procurement in the implementation of our sourcing strategy. The Officer might be based in an origin for longer periods for this purpose.

Next to that, we expect the Officer to develop its knowledge and capabilities in trading physical cocoa, cocoa futures and options and foreign exchange in such a way that the Officer can form an integral part of the trade team in the medium term.

Key tasks
1. Sourcing:

2. Exporting:
• Assist partners in origin and suppliers with shipment planning and execution
• Oversee correctness, timeliness and completeness of shipments
• Solid communication with and provide support for back-office and logistics team

3. Contract execution:
• Assist partners, maintain regular contact with suppliers and, if applicable, local cocoa export authorities to warrant smooth contract execution and timely shipments
• Attend stuffing and/or loading operations at the request of the company
• Expedite the resolution of problems and complaints

4. Sustainability:
• Support CR Officer with implementation of sustainability projects/strategy in Cameroon and in connection with clients

5. Operational Control:
Further develop and implement operational control procedures in origins, including but not limited to:
• Quality control procedures at different stages of the sourcing of cocoa, including setting up own labs or upgrade labs from partners
• i Stock and weight control procedures in (future) own managed and/or at our partners sourcing, cleaning and export operations
• Further develop and implement allocation of purchases to sales and planning of shipments.
• Ensure that the quality and packing of the cocoa meets the standards of the destination country

6. Market:
Supply the company with regular oral and written reports on matters such as, but not limited to:
• Cocoa crop forecast
• Weather conditions and forecast
• Total volume sold and shipped
• Competitive volumes
• Competitive shipments
• Competitive up-country activities
• Rules and regulations of local cocoa bodies and authorities and changes therein
• Premiums granted to farmers for traceability/certification
• Keep abreast of market conditions and competitive activities

7. External contacts:
• Establish and elevate the brand profile in the local area and with local cocoa (export) bodies
• Network and establish relationships with local cocoa (export) bodies/organizations

8. Management and team support:
• Support the management and team in daily execution of sales and purchase contracts
• Support the management in execution of sourcing and trading strategies and risk management
• Work closely with trading and other origin teams to ensure market share growth in the cocoa market

Education, knowledge and experience:
• Level of skill commensurate with a bachelor degree or higher qualification (Mathematics, Econometrics, Economics, Finance, Agriculture, Business Administration).
• Practical experience in a tropical commodity origin, preferably cocoa could be an advantage
• Basic knowledge on cocoa or other softs/agricultural markets
• Good understanding of risk management in relation to physical softs/agricultural commodities trading

Psychologist/ social scientist (f/m/x) with experience in gender-based violence and women's empowerment in Cameroon

Background
The northern regions of Cameroon are particularly affected by cases of gender-based violence. The region in the north of the country is characterised by a high poverty rate, a low level of education and limited access to resources. The migration of many young males and the presence of military bases in the region also increase the vulnerability and marginalization of women in this region.

The partner organisation Association des Femmes et Filles de l'Adamaoua (AFFADA) is an NGO based in Yaoundé. AFFADA works mainly with women and young girls in the northern province of Adamaoua in the fields of combating poverty and social exclusion, gender equality and women's empowerment. The organisation's main goal is to enable self-determination for girls and women through education and participation in local decision-making processes.

Saare Tabitha is the girls' education center of the UEBC (Union des Eglises Baptistes au Cameroun), based in Maroua in the Extrême-Nord region. In addition to educating young girls and women, Saare Tabitha is committed to strengthening the position of women in North Cameroon society, fighting social inequality and promoting peaceful coexistence between religious, ethnic and social groups.

The organisations have similar thematic focuses and are planning a joint project on gender-based violence (GBV) and reproductive health.

Job Scope
As a professional, you will contribute in capacity building of the staff and professionalization in the areas of GBV, reproductive health, and women's empowerment in both organizations.

In more detail, you will be responsible for the following:
• You will support the professionalisation of the psychosocial and legal counseling and support center for women in Ngaoundéré.
• You will design and give training for the staff of AFFADA and Saare Tabitha on the topics of GBV and reproductive health.
• Together with colleagues from AFFADA and Saare Tabitha, you plan awareness-raising measures for various target groups.
• You will accompany and strengthen local groups on the topic of GBV and empowerment of women and girls.
• You will support in project management, conducting studies and building databases.
• You will promote network building through cooperation with various relevant actors.

The professional will live (with his/her family) in Ngaoundéré with regular trips to Maroua and the surrounding area.

Profile
• You have completed a degree in psychology, social sciences, public health or a similar field.

FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITY DESCRIPTION

Background:
USAID is a leader in the global fight against tuberculosis (TB) and supports anti-TB efforts in high burden TB countries. STAR Fellowship is a key component of the USAID Administrator's TB Accelerator initiative that aims to reach the UN General Assembly TB Declaration targets as well as to build the capacity and commitment of the host governments to ensure TB self-reliance through evidence-based TB programs.

Introduction:
The Senior Global Fund TB Advisor (Senior Advisor) shall provide state-of-the-art technical expertise to National Tuberculosis Programs (NTP) to facilitate the TB National Strategic Plan and Global Fund grant implementation with a focus on case notification and detection as well as HIV/TB coinfection management.

Reporting structure:
The Senior Advisor will be based at the National TB Program, Ministry of Public Health in Yaoundé, Cameroon and will work in close collaboration with the USAID/Cameroon and USAID/Washington TB Team. The Senior Advisor will work closely with and receive technical direction from the NTP Permanent Secretary or his designee, who will serve as their Point of Contact.

Essential Duties and Outcomes:

Strengthen TB case finding and laboratory systems:
- Conduct a situational analysis for TB case finding.
- Develop an action plan and standard procedures to strengthen and harmonize TB case finding in health facilities and supporting its implementation. The plan and tools should cover the - following elements: TB triage, screening, diagnosis in health facilities, detection/ notification of TB in community settings, and testing for TB in other key populations (UD, MSM, TS), as well as scheduling based on data collected at the peripheral level.
- Conduct Situational analysis taking into account the results of studies coordinated by CAMNAFAW.
- Develop an action plan to help the NTP reach key populations, including people living with HIV.
- Strengthen TB Diagnosis by: assisting the development of diagnostic algorithms; helping to revise the TB Diagnostic Guide; and advising on approaches and strategies for using mobile radio devices in TB case finding.
- Support the NTP PMDT officer(s) to accelerate PMDT activities financed by Global Fund.

Improve the diagnosis and treatment for HIV/TB co-infection:
- Under the direction of the NTP, help improve the capacities of partners working at the level of basic health services to provide TB prevention, diagnosis and treatment services.
- Collaborate with all major actors in the health system to support the setup of a functional laboratory network for the molecular diagnosis of TB, including quality assurance and sample transport system, with a focus on the TB diagnosis activities.
- Collaborate with all actors in the system to strengthen the Tuberculosis data collection and transmission system, including electronic individual data with its integration into DHIS2, and the use of these data for decision making at all levels.

Strengthen implementation of activities funded by Global Fund:
- Provide guidance in developing quarterly and annual programmatic narrative reports and organizing regular (at least quarterly) partner meetings.
- Through field visits, review and analyze GF grant data and performance reports submitted to the GF and other partners, identify any issues that may lead to disbursement delays and suggest appropriate solutions.
- Support the organization of regular discussions between the GF country team, Programme National de Lutte contre la Tuberculose (PNLT), USAID, WHO, and other country stakeholders to ensure alignment of technical approaches in the respective TB portfolios.
- Provide technical assistance (TA) to develop and update national policies, guidelines, technical directives, and the regulatory framework to ensure timely adoption of the latest WHO recommendations (e.g., MDR-TB Treatment, Contact Tracing, LTBI Diagnosis and Treatment).
- Facilitate consultative processes among all stakeholders and solicit feedback from partners and policy beneficiaries for continuous monitoring and evaluation of the TB National Strategic Plan.
- Help the NTP to map out implementation processes and suggest ways to translate policy guidelines into operational SOPs.

Anticipated learning outcomes: approximate 10% time:
- Cultivate mentorship skills based on the STAR GH mentorship curriculum to more effectively support and improve knowledge transfer and skills acquisition of staff, incoming fellows and interns.
- Advance leadership skills to successful support capacity building and knowledge sharing activities, and mentor junior staff.
- Apply leadership skills and technical expertise to support programmatic growth and scale up within TB programming.

FELLOWSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Required:
- Minimum 13 years of relevant technical experience with master's degree in Public Health, Medicine, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Microbiology, or relevant field or a minimum 15 years of relevant technical experience with bachelor's degree.
- Experience in strengthening diagnostic networks including supporting elements, such as specimen transport, biosafety, supervision, mentorship and quality assurance desired.
- Knowledge of active case finding, mycobacteriology laboratory work, and TB diagnostics.
- Experience with USAID projects is an advantage.
- Experience in conducting training and capacity building.
- International experience in assisting TB programs in other countries in Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Experience working with the key stakeholders in TB program, preferably the national stakeholders and international donors.
- French and English are required.
