I have 12 years professional experience in Kenya, including having set up several business entities.
The work of NedKen Management is to act as professional partner for the new company in Kenya in the initial stages of the operations and starting the business.
Once the local company is 'settled' and has a running business, we are happy to step aside for the business to continue its development growth in Kenya.
As senior program manager I am responsible for the design, development and implementation of low-cost (or micro-) health financing programs in Kenya. This new and innovative initiated program aims to enhance access to quality healthcare for low-income groups in Kenya, specifically in the informal and rural sector. The program involves both the private sector, such as medical insurance companies, third party administrators and medical facilities in collaboration with the public sector. Currently there are 3 low-income health insurance projects running in Kenya with agricultural cooperative groups.
Furthermore the development of a “Mobile Health” initiative, using mobile technology as a healthcare financing approach, started in 2013 and is now at the forefront of a wide range of opportunities for micro health financing programs.
In collaboration with the health insurance program, the accreditation of medical facilities, through the sister organisation SafeCare, and medical loan facilities through our sister organisation Medical Credit Fund (MCF), offers an integrated approach to the programs.
I was also responsible for the set-up and running of the PharmAccess office in Kenya and acted as country representative, being responsible for the country office operations and external representation.
Responsible for the management of the complete operational, logistical and supply chain activities for the different medical and humanitarian programs in the project locations. As member of the ‘Country Management Team (CMT)’ I was also responsible for operations in the capital office at country level including strategic, policy and budget issues involved.
Also I have planned and conducted exploratory missions to new project locations where we investigated possible expansion of our country program.
I was acting Head of Mission for the India program for several months in absence of the head of mission.
