I am an all rounded individual, risk taker, looking for new avenues to divert my expertise. I currently occupy the senior position of Principal Education Officer I (Guidance and Counselling) in the Ministry of Education and Skills Development, Gaborone, Botswana. In this position I have provided leadership in learner support programmes and projects aimed at mitigating the impact of socio- economic challenges learners face. I have developed and implemented performance improvement strategies and plans to promote continuous improvement of learner performance and coordinated the psychosocial support programmes nationwide. I also provided leadership in the development of the Botswana Emotional Intelligence Training Manual.
I have held several educational positions which include Acting Deputy Director, coordinating the departmental operational efficiency, worked with various stakeholders, determined the Department’s Agenda, contingency plans and the successful implementation of programmes and projects. Previously l held positions of Principal Education Officer II Guidance and Counselling, Senior Teacher 1 Guidance and Counselling and Biology Teacher. I have undertaken Community Services on Counselling in one of the local churches.
I hold a Master’s in Education-Counselling and Human Services specialising in counselling across life span, Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling Education and a Bachelor of Education Science.
I have been exposed to working in a multinational environment and have provided solid leadership guidance and direction of multi project teams undertaking various projects. I have worked closely with the Office of the First Lady Botswana on the Gender Based Violence (GBV) and Substance Use Prevention, National Projects.

• Interpret and translate educational policies relating to national curriculum. Plan, coordinate and supervise the design, development and evaluation of curriculum programmes for psychosocial support programmes nationally.
• Manage psychosocial support programmes nationally on a day-to-day basis and ensures effective and efficient development of curriculum programmes.
• Direct and monitor implementation of curriculum projects and programmes for prevention of substance use nationally.
• Provide professional guidance and leadership for psychosocial support programmes nationally and Life skills subject.
• Facilitate the provision of in-service and/or on job training of Education Officers (Guidance & Counselling) across area of responsibility.
• Work with Principal Education Officers in other departments in diffusing relevant educational support to teachers and other officers.
• Liaise with Department of Basic Education to establish implementation strategies for Emotional Intelligence subjects.
• Contribute ideas on matters of curriculum change and development. Participates in curriculum integration efforts to avoid duplication of materials and guard against exclusion of some crucial areas of learning.

• Assist Chief Education Officer (Guidance & Counselling) in drawing up and managing a comprehensive budget for resources.
