PETER F.

Summary

My current role with Bureau Veritas ends at the end of this month (March, 2021) so I am emigrating from New Zealand to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with my Ethiopian wife, to continue our life together in Ethiopia. I have been to Ethiopia many times over the past 10 years and was married in Addis Ababa in 2014. My father-in-law is Ayele Dejene who owns Colba Tannery. I have a new house just completed in Addis Ababa and my wife wants to return home to be closer to her family, so I am looking for permanent employment long-term in Ethiopia, Ghana, Tanzania or Kenya.
I have extensive international experience working in Food Processing Plants (Heinz Watties), Abattoirs, Bottling Plants, Dairy and Milk Powder Processing (Fonterra), Chemical and Gold processing plants, Marine and Oil Refineries.
For the past 20 years I have been involved in Welding, Fabrication, Construction, Mining, Trucks and Cranes, Oil & Gas in both a hands-on and supervisory role, and have been heavily involved in QA/QC, and Inspection and Management. I am experienced in planned and preventative maintenance systems, and periodic maintenance to reduce operating costs and maximise availability of plant and equipment. This means I am also used to running Workshops, training staff, ordering and maintaining stock levels, quoting and supervising maintenance and repairs, and I am highly skilled in documentation and record keeping. This includes familiarity with the use of the Microsoft Office suite.
I am looking for a long-term position where I can use all my skills and training to improve company manufacturing processes, improve productivity and upskill local nationals.
I am expecting to be in Addis Ababa mid-May and will be looking for work immediately.
If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Yours faithfully,

Peter Fowles EngTech, TechWeldl, CIWS, CSWI
