I am an Agriculture and Plantation professional in my 30th year of excellence in the Plantations/Coffee/Spices industry and have been fortunate to usefully contribute irrespective of geography, hurdles or circumstances.
After my graduation in Horticulture in a premier Agricultural University,I wanted my plantation and coffee expertise to be of use to larger areas. That led me making a choice to join the corporate coffee companies in India whose farms are over 500 ha. My corporate peers realized that my team was always able to handle farm problems in a simple but very effective way that gave exceptional yields, quality and results. This was repeatedly happening in my career including the ‘off’ years.
This nice trend continued in Papua New Guinea for a stellar 9 years which is considered a ‘not-so-friendly’ environment.My 9 year long tenure in Mt.Hagen became a new record for the duration and success levels never seen before in this corporate coffee sector.A straightforward,firm,honest and mentally tough approach made this possible.
My professional achievements have come from learning basics of coffee at a very young age in an unforgiving coffee terrain, scientific decisions out of the Horticulture education I received from my University, analytical, skills, continous learning approach and ability to plan and implement practically.
The Q Arabica grader course I took recently in 2017 triggered a spark in me that I need to contribute to more coffee geographies and contribute more actively .
I have contributed to Industry by assisting PNG Coffee Industry Corporation as a Focus Member for Coffee Berry Borer control, participating as a Judge in National Coffee Cupping Competition and Pacific Horticulture Market Access Program by providing incisive inputs which are solutions to many of PNG's coffee problems.
I am now in Africa, experiencing and guiding all farming techniques best suited to the Brightest continent .
