Responsible for farm production, budget development and cost control.
Area of 4400 hectares of irrigated rice with a dry and wet season crop (2) per year.
Responsible for manager development and development of agronomy department.
Responsible for procurement of farm chemicals and fertiliser inputs.
Largest rice farm in Africa.
Overseeing Twynam’s dryland, irrigation cropping operations and livestock programs. Based at “Jemalong”, Forbes.
o Asset management of over 320,000 ha’s and an asset value in excess of $600m.
o Team Leader in the development of Strategic Direction for the Twynam Group’s agricultural operations and presentation to the CEO.
o Responsible for 80 Farm staff and Farm contractors.
o Review and presentation of Farm budgets and capex to the CEO.
o Supporting Farm Managers in the compilation of annual budgets.
o Working with Group Agronomist in establishing sustainable cropping programs across the group.
o Liaising with Group Accountant reviewing asset and enterprise performance; conducting quarterly financial reviews.
o Liaising with Group Business Manager on tendering of Farm inputs.
o Working with Group Marketing Manager to establish strategic logistics and market alliances in grains, fiber (cotton and wool) and water markets.
o Member of Twynam Executive Team.
o Company representative on OH&S Committee
o Team Leader in the process and presentation of “Twynam Building Review” to the Twynam board. A review covering the condition of all station buildings/fixed assets and assessments of costs related to capex and/or R&M.
o 2008-2010 Regional member of the NSW Wool Production Forecasting Committee.
o Reporting to – CEO/Managing Director
Head of Farming operations: responsible for budget control and review. Liaising with Farm Managers on production of crops - irrigated cotton, rice and maize; dryland crops of wheat, barley, canola, chickpeas.
Head of Project development for 200 hectares of irrigated citrus.
