Job Description

Van Den Berg Roses is an International Company specializing in growing Roses with farms in Netherlands; established in 1975, Kenya; established in 2004 and China; established in 2007, with a total production area of 920 M2 and an annual production of 275 million stems.

The production area for the Kenya Farm is currently 51 ha (hectares), with a yearly export production of 135 million stems of fresh cut roses. Our main export destinations are the European markets, where the company has developed its own niche. Van Den Berg Roses is certified by MPS A B C, MPS GAP, MPS-SQ, MPS ETI, GRASP and Fairtrade.

We are searching for a Production Manager, Rosefarm Kenya, Naivasha

We are looking for a dynamic, highly skilled, self-motivated and charismatic Production Manager with a strong bias for management skills in implementing crop production process from planning, harvest to post harvest. You should have at least one year of experience in a similar role, growing under IPM and on a farm producing for direct market.

• Part of Senior Management Team.
• Motivating and coaching the Production Team
• Direct oversight accountability of all activities in the field and packhouse to ensure high quality Roses for the markets.
• Meeting production targets, weekly, monthly and annually.
• Making production projections and budget control within the available resources.
• Green house management with crop management and husbandry adhering to good agronomic practices.
• Make weekly progress reports for discussion with the Director Kenya and Director NL.
• Review and work closely with the production consultants.

• Bachelor’s degree in horticulture or agriculture from a reputable institution
• Analytical and thorough in approach to problems and opportunities.
• Excellent knowledge of the English language
• Product knowledge of the European market
